The Westphalian Horse Museum (German "Westfälisches Pferdemuseum") is located in the Allwetterzoo Münster and offers you various approaches to the topic of horses. With exhibitions, a manege hall and a horse park with events with horses, the museum promises an exciting experience for you and your family. Admission to the museum is free for you if you also visit the zoo: The zoo admission price applies to both.

In the permanent exhibits, you can learn about things like what a horse sees and tastes, how intelligent it is, and how much sleep it needs. Other permanent shows focus on the history of horses and humans, breeding, and horse sports and its many disciplines. In an annual special exhibition, the museum also presents the winners of the well-known international photography competition "Wildlife Photographer of the Year" exclusively in North Rhine-Westphalia. In the Hippomaxx arena you can regularly see horse shows and other events. The children's and horse park allows you and your children to have up-close encounters with various horse breeds such as Icelandic horses and Mongolian ponies.

Guided tours are offered for the permanent exhibitions and the current special exhibition. For the former, you can also book guided tours on thematic focuses by prior agreement. Birthday children can celebrate their day at the museum and go on a discovery tour through the museum and the children's and horse park with their friends. In the action "Ran ans Pferd" children can gain their first experiences in dealing with horses in a playful way. Educational programs are offered for school classes, in which they learn, for example, about the development of the horse or the work with horses in the past and today. Classes and families can also explore the museum on their own, using worksheets and taking part in a museum quiz. Fees vary depending on what is offered.

The museum's foyer and arena can be rented for events, from small parties and dinners to receptions, meetings and large-scale events. In the arena, you can also watch movies and series related to animals with your children on weekends and during school vacations outside of show times. These include documentaries, reports, knowledge series, episodes of the series "Bibi & Tina" and other films for children. These are shown thanks to a high-performance projector, which, by the way, you can also rent for the events.

You can find more information about the Westphalian Horse Museum, its offers, prices and much more on the museum's website (website available in English).
