As the name suggests, the Hafenfest (harbor festival) is an event at Münster's city harbor. It has been held every year since 2001 over three days on a weekend in summer and offers a varied program for all visitors.

Are you a water rat? Then you have a choice: You can, for example, get an insight into the trendy sport of flyboarding. Thanks to 255 hp jet skis, pilots soar meters high and perform tricks such as spins and twists. In Standup paddleboarding you stand on a kind of thick surfboard and move with a paddle through the harbor basin. For this, there are trial offers and a children's race where prizes can be won. Canoe polo has been a sporting highlight and an integral part of the festival for years. Two teams of five players each compete in kayaks and try to get a water ball into the opponent's goal. The Münster canoe polo club will show you training sessions and demonstration games on Saturday.

If you want to enjoy a boat ride in the harbor basin, you also have several options. Under guidance, you can try the ride on motorboats or enjoy the ride in a group on group boats. A special highlight is the historic steam passenger boat "Nixe", which was built in 1939 and has been on the water in various functions ever since. You can take round trips with it on weekends.

But also away from the harbor basin there are many offers for you. On numerous music stages there are rock, pop, ska, alternative, soul, reggae, hip hop, jazz and many other genres for every musical taste from artists, artists and bands. For children there will be programs with clowns, face painting, music and dance activities, as well as bouncy castles, wheels of fortune and carousels.
